Survey feedback tells us that our employees feel we have a multitude of strengths in our culture including our ability to "get the job done." They feel our commitment to people and organizational issues is outstanding. They feel we have a culture that allows their ownership in their future... a culture that supports total engagement and passion... a learning culture. Below is part of what we feel defines our culture.
The Human Element
The most influential element in chemistry is not found on the Periodic Table of Elements. Its power is undeniable. Its presence is understood. It is the Human Element. To create a place for the Human Element on the Periodic Table, Dow started using the "Hu" symbol as its periodic abbreviation. After all, the Human Element is helping change the face of chemistry. Together, we support our mission with vast resources to help advance human health and safety, provide affordable and adequate food, increase sustainable water supplies, expand economical housing and develop energy alternatives. We strive to make the biggest impact while leaving the smallest footprint.
Making Our Local Communities Better
Giving is just part of who we are. As a company, our active donation and volunteer programs support museums, Habitat for Humanity®, the United Way, and other important causes in the communities where we live and work. Our employees also are highly active in their own backyards, participating on committees and boards of charitable foundations, symphonies, schools and countless other local organizations. We do this because we truly believe it is our responsibility to help improve the way the world lives.
Each person will have individual needs to balance their work/life integration at each stage of their career. We're committed to working with you to find those solutions along the way. Among the tools we have are:
- A full array of flexible work arrangements
- Competitive vacations schedules
- Leave of absence programs
- Child and elder care resources
- Tuition reimbursement
We lead the agricultural industry in the development of innovative green chemistry solutions that have set new crop protection standards to help serve the world's growing population. Spinetoram is a winner of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge award, which is one of the U.S. government's top environmental honors. Dow AgroSciences has received three Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards, which illustrate the company's long-term commitment to green chemistry principles.
