The Production Technician will perform a wide variety of routine and non-routine plant, production operations duties,field operations and employee health and safety operations. Under general supervision the Production Technician works on assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May select appropriate procedures to complete tasks and work is performed within standard methods.

This role may specialize in Field, Plant Operations, or specialized equipment related activities. The incumbent is expected to learn and participate in any areas as necessary per management request in order to meet site production objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Operate seed processing equipment.
- Observe, record, and maintain data in appropriate formats to ensure operations process is maintained within standard guidelines.
- Treats and conditions planted seed paying special attention to handling any hazardous materials in a safe manner.

Under the general supervision of the site leader, the Field Station Operations Leader (FSOL) will be responsible for the implementation of the cotton and corn silage R&D programs in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. Typical responsibilities:

- Be the site technicial team leader and have administrative leadership responsibilities for the station technicial staff responsible for the implementation, conduct, and completion of projects.

Soybean production responsibilities include:

Assist with assessments at multiple contractors for all areas of operations, planting, inspections, harvesting and conditioning.

Ensure contractor training and recording the proper documentation for regulated production.

The Research Technician will assist in day to day operations of the grain and silage corn breeding programs. The primary purposes of this job are to i) supervise the Seeds and Traits R&D staff located within the North Central Region in the United States ii) ensure breeding resources are developed and deployed appropriately and aligned to business priorities iii) be responsible for the career development, performance planning, review, and general administration of breeding staff. The qualified candidate will be actively involved in developing and fostering relationships with internal customers, external collaborators, and industry associations. The candidate for this position will also serve as project leader for key projects and will be the station leader for the field breeding station near Clinton, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

- Performance management and professional development of technical/administrative staff
- Succession planning and career development management for direct staff and serves as a representative to the global Seeds and Traits R&D (S&T R&D) function and ensures S&T R&D employees are considered for career opportunities on the Seed Business staff
- Ultimately accountable for the quality and productivity of the S&T R&D staff against the established work plan (on time delivery of milestones, etc.)
- Represents their unique region/ecology within the S&T R&D Function and works to help establish an effective work plan that efficiently and effectively utilizes resources
- With Breeding and Field Station Leaders, implements work plans that deliver Regional and Global business needs. Has ultimate authority for dissemination of work load within local areas
- Overall responsibility for management of S&T R&D budget and use of contractual funds where appropriate, to meet work plan needs
- Assists Global S&T R&D Leaders with establishment of best breeding practices and scorecards to ensure quality and productivity improvements within the S&T R&D organization
- Represents S&T R&D function within regional business teams and determines technical / breeding strategy required to deliver business goals
- Leads various project teams to address key deliverables aligned with business goals and critical success factors
- Contributes to the development of R&D strategies through participation in project teams

Qualifications

- Doctorate degree in Plant Breeding, Crop Genetics, Agronomy or Crop Science and a minimum of 7 years of experience in leading a field R&D team including direct people leadership and budget experience

The primary purpose of this job is to manage all activities related to corn Trait Introgression and Event Sorting research nursery work. In addition, this position will participate in overall site activities to support the achievement of company deliverables for Environmental Health & Safety, people development, and budget success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct various event sorting and trait introgression activities, including but not limited to the management of; nursery planning, seed handling, planting, thinning, gene checking, tissue sampling, pollinating, note-taking, plant selection, harvesting, drying, data analysis, reporting, and seed shipping

The Soybean Field Biologist will be responsible for implementation and management of the Mid South based soybean testing program. This position will provide technical assistance to soybean breeders, agronomists, and other researchers associated with the development of soybean varieties and traits targeted to the Mid South area. Work will consist of establishment of both on and off site yield trials, regulated trait trial management, as well as management of contra-season soybean nurseries. Analyses of data and preparation of reports will also be an integral component and responsibility of the biologist in support of the variety advancement process. This position administratively reports to the Site Leader, with functional reporting aligning to the Seeds Product Development Leader and Soybean Breeding Leadership.

This position will be located in Leland, Mississippi.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Work with breeders and Product Development Agronomists on the establishment and management of Soybean Yield Trials
- Coordinate and perform functions related to soybean testing including seed packaging, planting, plot maintenance, note taking, harvest, and data entry
- Management of regulated trait trials
- Manage research data in Excel and VARIETY databases
- Provide on-going leadership and coaching to technicians

This position will be responsible for grower management, coordination and supervision of field work, the location integrated pest management program and the field quality assurance program.

Typical responsibilities may include:

- Coordination of the seed corn production.
- Coordination and supervision of the activities of field technicians and field crews planting, de-rouging, detasseling, certification, field inspection and harvest for the location.
- Collect, record, analyze and report data as required.
- Responsible for contract grower management to include contracting, field selection, development of seed crop management plan with the grower.
- Develop and implement seed production practices for use in all field activities that result in high quality seed for our customers.
- Efficient and effective management of employees involved in field production tivities.
- Ensures all seed produced and distributed meets or exceeds Company quality standards.
- Provides leadership to the field operations team in establishing and following adequate procedure to ensure federal and state regulatory, safety and security guidelines are met and/or exceeded.

- Schedule and coordinate planting, field activities and harvest.
- Evaluate and communicate field conditions that could compromise production plans.

- Implement and coordinate the location quality inspection program including hiring of personnel, data collection, and data reporting to the State Improvement Association for field certification.

Qualifications

- Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a company vehicle is required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (bag of seed) is required.
