Dow AgroSciences is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company and had annual global sales of $6.4 billion in 2012.<br/><br/>Dow AgroSciences is seeking to find a talented and dynamic Field Agronomist who will manage field production operations for Seed Corn production in Marshalltown, IA.  This position will be responsible for grower management, coordination and supervision of field work, the location integrated pest management program and the field quality assurance program.<br/><br/>Typical responsibilities may include:<br/><br/>- Coordination of the seed corn production.<br/>- Coordination and supervision of the activities of field technicians and field crews planting, de-rouging, detasseling, certification, field inspection and harvest for the location.<br/>- Collect, record, analyze and report data as required.<br/>- Responsible for contract grower management to include contracting, field selection, development of seed crop management plan with the grower.<br/>- Develop and implement seed production practices for use in all field activities that result in high quality seed for our customers.<br/>- Efficient and effective management of employees involved in field production tivities.<br/>- Ensures all seed produced and distributed meets or exceeds Company quality standards.<br/>- Provides leadership to the field operations team in establishing and following adequate procedure to ensure federal and state regulatory, safety and security guidelines are met and/or exceeded.<br/>- Directs the operations staff in acquiring, developing and motivating a workforce, both regular and temporary, to meet location goals.<br/>- Schedule and coordinate planting, field activities and harvest.<br/>- Evaluate and communicate field conditions that could compromise production plans.<br/>- Conduct experiments and/or implement changes to field operations that will lead to understanding and optimizing production.<br/>- Implement and coordinate the location quality inspection program including hiring of personnel, data collection, and data reporting to the State Improvement Association for field certification.<br/>- Ensure that company isolation standards are met.<br/>- Coordinate production research programs at the plant level.<br/>- Assist in the development of location budgets and monitoring of spending against the budget.<br/>- Develop and implement operating procedures necessary to safely complete field work and ensure proper training of field personnel.<br/>- Exhibits employee behavior that supports the overall location safety program.
