This Production Technician will be involved in all areas of seed production within our Grand Ridge, Illinois Seeds Operations facility as well as remote growing locations throughout the Midwest. This may include crop production (corn and soybeans), harvesting, conditioning, packaging, warehousing, quality control, and maintenance.

Our Production Technicians are key members of our team and ensure the highest levels of safety of our operations. In addition, our Production Technicians are key to ensuring the highest level of quality products for our customers. In this position, you will work closely with and support other on-site personnel in an effort to continuously improve our processes and consistently establish the highest standards in the industry for safety, seed quality, cost, and supply reliability.

Soybean production responsibilities include:

Assist with assessments at multiple contractors for all areas of operations, planting, inspections, harvesting and conditioning.

*
Ensure contractor training and recording the proper documentation for regulated production.

*
Travel will be required. Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, & North Dakota. Other states could be added.

*
Assist with soybeans from planting through packaging.

*
Gain a full understanding of our regulated SOP, standards, and pass training.

*
Ability to understand our internal regulated reporting database. Training will be provided.

Corn Production Responsibilities include:

Overseeing crop activities including planting through harvest.

*
Conditioning and packaging: seed sizing, cleaning, treatment application, quality control, packaging, labeling and tagging seed, re-bag processed lots

*
Warehousing and distribution: organizing, moving and placing seed into storage, maintaining inventory accuracy utilizing electronic inventory systems, stage seed for shipment to other warehouses and customers, receive seed from other warehouses.

Maintenance: responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas.

*
Continuous Improvement: Writing and updating job procedures, assisting in the training of new employees, and participating on continuous improvement teams.

Qualifications

Previous soybean experience or knowledge would be preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Valid driver's license for the state of Illinois is a requirement.

Fluent in English. Candidate must be able to read, write and speak in English without assistance.

The Production Technician will perform a wide variety of routine and non-routine plant, production operations duties,field operations and employee health and safety operations. Under general supervision the Production Technician works on assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. The Dow AgroSciences Seeds Traits & Oils Business has two exciting and challenging opportunities for two small sites Global Maintenance Work Process Planner/Scheduler & MRO person. The successful candidates will be located at the Mycogen Seeds Facility in York, NE and the second at Marshalltown, IA.

The maintenance planner, scheduler and MRO person will be a multi job role. The person will use job plans to create a schedule that makes the most effective and efficient use of the available resources, a person who has the skills and knowledge to create a job package from a work order scope including required labor material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. This person will also be responsible for managing MRO inventory at the Site. The computerized maintenance management system will be ERIS for small sites.

Key Responsibilities:

- Uses “quality feedback” from the Person Doing Work to optimize the archived plans.
- Carry out field check when needed.
- Prepare job package and input plan into ERIS indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
- When material availability has been confirmed, store job in active backlog.
